My values

Community Care.

Better Futures.

Curiosity.

About Jenn

A Boutique Business

Once Upon a Desk is a boutique virtual assistant sole proprietorship based in the United States with an international client list. Clients are typically small business owners who require a portion of their business to have an active web presence.

I work or have worked with nonfiction authors, public speakers, business consultants, marketing agencies, and coaches, and value working with like-minded folks.

Professional Background

Professionally, my experience ranges from hospitality to entrepreneurship. Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Computing and Information Technology as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing & Poetics.

Yes, my resume is a nightmare. And, yes, I’ve been told, “I’m afraid you’ll be bored in this position…” several times in interviews.

Which is probably why, in 2019, I decided freelancing was the right move after working in higher education and state governments for a decade.

Other Important Things

  • The through-line in all my work is an emphasis on ethical, fair, and heart-centered communication.

  • Some of my favorite work-related tasks are launch planning and implementation, developing stakeholder/client experiences, analyzing stakeholder/client sentiment, and working with folks I can laugh with.

  • I believe in showing up as your authentic self and meaningful, empowering work.
